Why not come and commemorate July 14th and the 1789 storming of the Bastille by staying at the Hotel Albe Bastille, just a short way from where it all began? This is your opportunity to discover the excitement and the festive spirit that takes over the capital during the Fête Nationale Française. Here is part of the fun that awaits you…
Unmissable military parade
July 14th, the French National Day, always begins with the capital’s famous military parade. For this event, the Champs-Élysées is closed to traffic and the crowds gather in the shade of the avenue’s splendid trees to watch the march past of the nation’s armed forces. From the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, the Republican Guard on horseback, legionnaires in full uniform, army infantry, troupes de Marine and many more parade along the most beautiful avenue in the world in impeccable order. The highlight of the show comes from the Patrouille de France, the precision aerobatics demonstration unit of the French Air Force, as they spread tricolour swirls across the summer sky.
A festive evening
In the early evening, head to the foot of the Eiffel Tower for the traditional concert of the Orchestre National de France, accompanied by the Chœur de Radio de France. Combining classical music greats with plenty of surprises, they offer a wonderful show that climaxes with a stunning fireworks display. Launched from the Champs de Mars with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, these state-of-the-art pyrotechnics offer a breathtaking spectacle. Finally, you can choose to end this day of celebration by attending the firefighters' ball or the huge Garden Party at the Paris Longchamp racecourse...
Popular, inclusive, friendly, Bastille Day brings a light and festive spirit to Paris. Come and experience a typically Parisian July 14th and help us celebrate our national day during your stay at the Hotel Albe Bastille!
